Jimmy Lee Tree Planting.

25 trees donated to the jimmy lee recreation center

Ever-Green Energy affiliate, District Energy St. Paul, and the City of Saint Paul launched a new City-run tree donation program on May 9, 2008. Called Trees Saint Paul, the new program allows Saint Paul residents, organizations, visitors and others to donate to the City’s tree planting efforts guided by the newly developed “Tree Planting Master Plan.”

District Energy donated 25 evergreen trees to the Trees Saint Paul in recognition of its 25th anniversary this year and its use of wood waste as its primary fuel to heat and cool downtown Saint Paul buildings.

Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Parks & Recreation Director Bob Bierscheid, District Energy President Anders Rydaker, Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation representatives and Ever-Green Energy employees all participated in the program’s kick-off ceremony and the actual planting of several large evergreens at the newly expanded Jimmy Lee Recreation Center & Great River Water Park.
