In the Summer 2006 Issue ...President's Message — District Energy's success prompted the creation of affiliate companies in order to reach additional energy efficiency and environmental goals. Our feature article describes these affiliates, their purposes and how they link together to benefit District Energy customers and the community. District Energy and Its Affiliates — Saint Paul's district energy system is recognized as a national model. As word of our success has spread, many opportunities to grow and to share our experience have emerged. In response, District Energy created affiliate companies, each with a specific focus but all for the benefit of our existing customers. District Energy Welcomes Four New Board Members — Four new members have joined the District Energy/District Cooling boards: William Morrissey, Richard Schreiner, Patricia Wolf and T. Jerry Barnes. Bernard St. Peter Declared Director Emeritus — Board members and management staff celebrated St. Peter's board tenure (19 years) and declared him Director Emeritus of District Energy St. Paul at a farewell luncheon. Ken Smith Joins the Market Street Energy Team — Ken Smith's positive attitude and versatile experience, linked with fresh, creative ideas, are qualities that will enable both District Energy and Market Street Energy to maintain a strong community presence while growing a prosperous future. Ask Alex — The Energy Star® Web site is an excellent resource for building owners and managers as well as the general public. The site encourages a commitment to superior energy management, resulting in economic and environmental benefits that come with energy savings. |
