In the Summer 2007 Issue ...President's Message — We applaud the leadership roles our Minnesota Governor and Saint Paul Mayor have assumed to promote environmental awareness and to establish sustainability goals. New Affiliate Name, New Logos — Market Street Energy Company is changing its name to Ever-Green Energy. The new name reflects the company's commitment to the sustainable use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, environmental stewardship and moving the nation toward energy independence. District Energy President Named 'Person of the Year' — Anders Rydaker received the international District Energy Association's prestigious Norman R. Taylor Award during ceremonies June 19 at the organization's 98th Annual Conference & Trade Show. New Faces on the Board — District Energy and Ever-Green Energy are proud to introduce several new board members: Tom Wilkolak, Donovan Schwichtenberg, Donna Avery and Bill Buth. 30+ Years in the Tree Business and Counting — Steve Vorlicky was hired in April 2006 as the biomass fuel site supervisor for Environmental Wood Supply following 30 years in the forestry industry. Good-bye and Hello — As District Energy approaches its 25th anniversary, some long-time employees are retiring and new employees have come on-board to fill existing positions or newly-created positions in affiliate companies. Ask Alex — A properly operating cooling system will reduce energy consumption, lower electrical costs for pumping and fan operation, and provide a comfortable environment for building tenants and guests. |
