Ken Smith awarding Tom Kingson director emeritus status

In honor of his dedicated service to the company, Tom Kingston has been named Director Emeritus on Ever-Green Energy’s Board of Directors. He retired from the board in 2022 after joining in 2010 and serving as chairperson since 2017.

Current board chairperson Bonnie Holub said, “Tom has contributed his knowledge about organizational leadership, passion for mission-driven work, and understanding of the Saint Paul community to Ever-Green through his service to the board. His human-centered focus has brought empathy, compassion, and caring to each of our decisions.”

Tom served as president of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation for 20 years. During his tenure at Wilder, Tom was involved in numerous innovative public and private joint ventures in health and human services in the Twin Cities. In his retirement, he and his wife Mary helped establish the Kingston Fellowship at Wilder that provides funding for employees for educational experiences/training in Health and Human Services.

Tom has been an active member of the Saint Paul community throughout his career and has served as a board member at Regions Hospital, the Capital City Partnership, the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, and the Opportunity Housing Investment Fund.

In his free time, Tom is an avid outdoorsman and has been passionate about the environment his whole life. He is particularly fond of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota and makes frequent canoe trips to the area.
